Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Canadian Athlete Network ("CAN", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use CAN and that they have read and agreed to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration — including your full name, email address, and a valid phone number — and to keep this information up to date. A phone number is required to create an account so we can support account recovery, verification, and time-sensitive recruiting communications. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for any activity that occurs under it.

4. Memberships and Payments

Athletes pay an annual membership fee of $75 CAD for "Annual Student Access". Memberships are billed yearly through Stripe. You can cancel or update your payment method at any time from your dashboard. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you upload (profiles, photos, videos, messages). By uploading, you grant CAN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share that content within the platform for the purpose of helping you connect with coaches and recruiters.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent your identity, role, or affiliations.
  • Upload illegal, harmful, harassing, or fraudulent content.
  • Contact users for purposes unrelated to athletic recruitment.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data.
  • Scrape, copy, or resell platform data.

7. Coach Verification

Coach and recruiter accounts may be subject to verification. CAN reserves the right to suspend or remove any account that misrepresents its affiliation with an institution.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

9. Disclaimer

CAN connects athletes with coaches but does not guarantee recruitment offers, scholarships, or specific outcomes. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CAN shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
